![]() ![]() To me, that seems like an inevitable return to WWII (debatable how outside the box that is, but whatever), but I also have a vision for something grand and crazy like “World of Black Ops” an open world shooter that sets The Division in its sights, but that’s an idea for another day.įollow me on Twitter, on Facebook, and on Tumblr. If Call of Duty wants to retain its crown year after year, it’s going to have to start thinking outside the box. ![]() Nor do I think Ghosts 2, Advanced Warfare 2 and Black Ops 4 is a great line-up for the next few years. I still don’t think any of these are better ideas that Infinity Ward doing WWII this year instead of a Ghosts sequel. And though Black Ops 3 has done very well, perhaps Treyarch will move on now that the “trilogy” is possibly complete, and head back to WWII, a setting they’ve visited before. Sledgehammer did produce a poor-selling (by Call of Duty standards) near future shooter, and maybe Activision doesn’t believe in the Advanced Warfare brand. A campaign and multiplayer based on an alien invasion, taking a page from their co-op mode? That sounds extreme, but it would almost have to be for Ghosts to remain relevant as a brand, as Advanced Warfare and Black Ops have been received so much better.Īn alternate theory is that it might be Treyarch or Sledgehammer that heads back to World War II, and we really do get Ghosts 2 from Infinity Ward this year. Ghosts 2 would have to do something dramatic to stand out from the other series, and I'm not sure what that would be at this point. What do you think is going to be more eye-catching this fall, Call of Duty: Ghosts 2, or a WWI Battlefield? I still doubt Battlefield would have a prayer of outselling COD, but I just don’t see that much excitement around a Ghosts 2 launch, compared to where things would be if COD was heading back to WWII after nearly a decade away from it. ![]() And that was even before this rumor that Battlefield is making a World War I game. This makes much more sense, and is a far better idea. The other rumor about this year’s Call of Duty, one based seemingly in nothing but logic, is that the series will return to World War II with Infinity Ward’s new installment. No offense to Infinity Ward, but that’s simply how it is. If the series wants to stay fresh, there needs to be some diversity between its games, and Ghosts is the most likely candidate to get cut, because of how forgettable it is as a brand, and how much the original was disliked. The real problem, however, is that Call of Duty games are starting blur together more than ever into one big blob of “near future shooters.” While Black Ops started back in Vietnam, and Modern Warfare was in some vague approximation of present day, the series has now split into three between Ghosts, Black Ops and Advanced Warfare, and now all are near-future shooters full of robots and drones and elaborate holographic HUDs and everything else that comes with that kind of tech. It also marked the first severe decline in sales for the series in years, and though it wasn’t the lowest point (that would be Advanced Warfare a year later), it was nothing to be celebrated. Made by Infinity Ward, now lacking its founders who made the Modern Warfare games, it was generic, and multiplayer upset both casual and pro players alike. The original Call of Duty: Ghosts is not exactly a beloved game in the series. But it shouldn’t be, and Ghosts 2 is not the direction the series needs to go this fall. ![]()

![]() ![]() ![]() In an August letter to the Boebert campaign questioning the expenses, FEC campaign finance analyst Shannon Ringgold warned that the commission "may consider taking further legal action" if it found that the four payments in question were used to cover personal expenses.īut Ringgold also said that "prompt action to obtain reimbursement of the funds in question will be taken into consideration. On Thursday morning, FEC spokesman Christian Hilland said, "Our campaign finance analysts will review (Boebert's) amended report to see if it's sufficient." And, for the first time, the filing indicated that the money had been used to pay rent and utility bills. Boebert, who is running in a Republican primary that ends on Tuesday, has called the allegations completely baseless and disgusting, the Washington Examiner reported last week. This week's filing updated an earlier report from Boebert's campaign and shows payments for the same amounts and on the same dates - previously described as personal expenses - as going to Pacheco. That filing indicated that the expenses already had been reimbursed. Her campaign had described the four payments as a "personal expense of Lauren Boebert billed to the campaign in error." It is against the law to use campaign funds for personal use, but it's not clear that Boebert faces immediate legal jeopardy.īoebert, a firebrand Republican freshman, previously acknowledged using campaign funds for personal expenses in an earlier filing this year that drew the scrutiny of federal campaign regulators. The payments are described as rent and utilities that had been erroneously billed to campaign.īoebert's spokesman did not immediately respond to a CNN inquiry Thursday. The report, submitted to the FEC on Tuesday, details a series of four payments this year totaling $6,650 to John Pacheco, whose address is the same as Shooters Grill in Rifle, Colorado - the restaurant that Boebert has owned. Lauren Boebert paid utility and rent bills with campaign funds, according to a new filing the Republican lawmaker made this week with the Federal Election Commission. The huge second payment in November means she would have had to have driven 36,870 in just seven months.Colorado Rep. ![]() Due to the coronavirus pandemic Boebert had no campaign events in March, April or July and only one in May. ![]() When that astronomical number was revealed in her financial disclosure form the skeptical began doing calculations and figured out that at the IRS-determined rate of $0.575 per mile she would have to have driven 55,302 miles in 2020 to justify those reimbursements. 11, her FEC forms shows a mileage reimbursement from her campaign for a whopping $21,199.52. She paid the remaining five liens totaling $18,999.36 on Oct. Two weeks later, on March 31, 2020, she claimed mileage reimbursements of $1,059.62. County records show that Boebert, a Trump acolyte who campaigned on a law and order platform, paid three of the liens, totaling $553.50, on Feb. There’s a curious correlation between the timing of the mileage reimbursements she reported on her campaign finance disclosures filed with the Federal Election Commission and the timing and amounts paid to satisfy the state tax liens. Between August 2016 and February 2020 Boebert was hit with eight liens by the Colorado Department of Labor and employment and owed $19,552.86, including interest and penalties. Lauren Boebert had her campaign reimburse her more than $21,000 for mileage in 2020 and restaurant-owning private citizen Lauren Boebert was able to pay off almost $20,000 in state tax liens less than two weeks before last November’s election.Ĭolorado Newsline examined records from the Garfield County Clerk and Recorder’s office and uncovered the fact that Boebert had failed to pay unemployment insurance premiums since opening her Shooters Grill restaurant in Rifle, Colo., in 2013. ![]() ![]() ![]() Safety Recall Information - For important safety recall information, click here.įor any difficulty using this site with a screen reader or because of a disability, please contact us at 1-80 or For California consumers: For more information about our privacy practices, click here. Ok, this thread is getting off course, but I will step in here and put in my two cents worth. I'll stick to non-synthetics, because I've seen what synthetics will do to an engine. ![]() The comment about mixing 40:1 oil at 50:1 oil means that if the label on the bottle says to mix the oil at 40:1-and you mix it at 50:1-you risk cooking your engine. I've seen 50cc engines run at 50:1 and 100:1 on synthetics and they look like someone threw sand in the intake after only 20-30 gallons. I expect this engine to go well over 250 gallons before I might think about replacing the rings. There is barely enough carbon in the combustion chamber to even scrape out. The piston skirt doesn't show signs of scuffing. I've got a 52cc airplane engine here that I've run 126 gallons through on non-synthetic oil at 40:1 and it looks beautiful inside. I've seen the pitted pistons, and burnt rings. I've seen all the piston skirt scuffing and carbon build up from using synthetics. You do what you want, but unless you have actually SEEN the insides of a 2-stroke engine after being run on synthetic oil for a couple hundred gallons-then your just repeating what you've heard and read someplace else. I have seen the insides of enough 2-strokes to know that synthetics don't hold up as well under punishing conditions as non-synthetics. I see the insides of engines all the time. Mixing 40:1 oil at 50:1 is a good way to cook your engine. 50:1 is okay, if the oil manufacturer designed the oil to run at that ratio. Anything more than that is for really punishing conditions where circulated cooling air is minimal and engine revs are excessively high.Ĥ0:1 is usually the standard. If your not fouling plugs and getting gummed up rings or carbon deposits in the combustion chamber-then your fine. If you just run a regular old dinosaur oil in your engines, and mix it according to the label on the oil bottle-you'll not have problems. IMO-synthetics is just myth and hype to sell you more expensive oil that you don't need. I run them all on 40:1 oil and I punish the heck out of them. I will NOT use a synthetic oil in my engines. It's a touch of transparency that's greatly appreciated in our opinion. Now visible is a small AIO water cooler, complete with a 120mm radiator, as well as your GPU and RAM sticks. For the first time since its inception, the Alienware Aurora R13 features a vast overhaul to the visual language, with a transparent panel revealing the impressive lighting and hardware at the helm. Gaming on the Alienware Aurora R13 was a very pleasant experience Alienware Aurora R13 review Almost everything can be swapped out from graphics cards to the amount of available storage, and RAM too. Just keep in mind if you want an AMD CPU, you'll need to go for the Aurora R14. This means that the R13 line can be as affordable, or as premium, as to suit your needs. Perhaps the greatest strength of the Alienware Aurora R13 is in its customization options though, and while it is decidedly difficult to open up and work on the insides yourself, the manufacturer does give you specific hardware options when purchasing. Our review unit came powered by the Intel Core i9-12900KF CPU, with 64GB DDR5 RAM, and an RTX 3080, so naturally 4K60 and above was absolutely no problem here. With support for PCIe 5.0 and DDR5 RAM, combined with the prowess of both the RTX 30-series and RX 6000 line, the R13 is purpose-built for tomorrow's games with no compromises. The Alienware Aurora R13 is one of the latest in the long-standing line of Dell's gamer-centric machines, it also happens to be the best gaming PC of the lot, too. The fans in this rig seem louder than they've ever been, and in all honesty, don't do a great job of keeping the components cool. Having said that, if you're going to buy this monster of a gaming PC, I would strongly, strongly urge you to take a look at the best PC headset for gaming, because by golly are you going to need it. Should you buy one of the priciest big-name pre-built gaming PCs on the market? On paper, and when it comes to in-game performances, the answer's a pretty simple yes. Although that rig, in particular, is pricey, and probably one of the most powerful gaming PCs you can get your hands on at the moment, the Predator Orion 7000 can be found in more configurations than ever before, and we're sure as time goes on we'll begin to see a wider spread of builds up and down the price range. The version we tested was crammed full of power, housing an unlocked 13th Gen Intel Core i9-13900KF CPU and an RTX 4090. Now fully compatible with 13th Gen CPUs, DDR5, and wielding the Lovelace power of Nvidia's RTX 40 series, Acer has futureproofed its flagship's innards for the new generation. If you're looking for your first gaming PC, a prebuild can definitely save you a lot of stress and headaches. While there are definitely benefits to doing this, we'd recommend a prebuilt rig for folks who don't have the time and know-how to build from scratch. Of course, there is the option to assemble newer components later in the year, or even build your own gaming PC from scratch. Just keep in mind that the best graphics cards releasing this year will likely offer better value. Of course, there's always a silver lining, and with all these new components releasing, it means that PCs containing the previously elusive 30 series GPUs are now becoming a lot more affordable. For example, try to make sure the gaming PC you go for has one of the best CPUs, and something resembling the best RAM for gaming inside it. We'd just recommend that you think about futureproofing if you're about to invest a large sum. Whether you're looking for the latest and greatest Alienware gaming PC, or you're a seasoned pro looking for something you can modify as you go, one of our picks below will definitely set you on the right track.
